In accordance with Article 13 of Royal Decree 99/2011, which regulates doctoral studies in Spain,
a doctoral thesis is required to include a minimum of two evaluations conducted by PhD experts in the relevant field, who are external to the university. These experts may provide suggestions for improvement and may also serve as members of the examining board responsible for assessing the thesis. Based on the content of these evaluations, the academic committee will allocate a specified timeframe for the doctoral student to respond and, if necessary, to incorporate the relevant modifications into the doctoral thesis prior to its submission.
To fulfill this requirement, the Academic Committees of the Doctoral Programmes at the University of Granada appoint two experts to evaluate each doctoral thesis, based on the recommendations of the doctoral student and their supervisors.
The experts will be compensated with a fee of 100 euros for the preparation of the requested evaluation report.
In the proposal, the doctoral student is required to provide the information displayed in the accompanying image on the thesis deposit platform of the University of Granada (UGR).:
In the case of experts from countries other than Spain, it is necessary to provide either the passport number (selecting the passport option) or the national identity number (selecting the alternative option).
These data will be securely maintained within the databases of the University of Granada and will be processed in accordance with the provisions of applicable regulations in this domain.
