Three-minute thesis competition

The 3 Minute Thesis competition is based on a concept developed by the University of Queensland (R), Australia, which quickly spread across Australia and New Zealand, and has just gone global.

The University of Granada is offering their PhD students the chance to take part in this international competition in collaboration with University members of the Coimbra Group.

The competition is broken down into stages:

  1. At the local Doctoral School level
  2. At the University level
  3. At the level of the International-Coimbra Group.

The final will include PhD students from different European countries belonging to the Coimbra group. The final will take place virtually via live video link up.

The competition will be held in English.

Participation will raise your research profile, develop your skills in public engagement and communication and help you network with researchers from around the world.

To register for the competition:
You will need to send an email to: --LOGIN--efeaff415b4940932fc903d4bec3f620ugr[dot]es with “3-minute thesis” in the issue (Deadline: 30 november 2023). In the message you have to include the following information:
1. Your name
2. Doctorate program
3. Year of first registration in the program
4. Title of the thesis
5. Supervisor/s
6. Short abstract (max 250 words)

Announce date of institutional final and start to promote October - November
First phase at UGR level competitions January-February
UGR Institutional finals (second phase) March
Deadline for video submissions for Coimbra Group final Spring
International Evaluation Committee members vote for top 3 entries Spring
Coimbra Group final in (decision must be taken) Spring
