You must renew your registration every academic year until you defend your doctoral thesis. The re-registration process will be carried out exclusively through the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students. If you wish to continue your doctoral studies, you must upload your annual monitoring report to the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students between 1 and 30 September. Once the annual monitoring report has been approved by the coordinator of your doctoral programme, you will be able to apply for registration under the concept of “doctoral student academic supervision”.
Your supervisor must validate your report or reject it and issue a new one. If your report is rejected, your thesis tutor and you will have to rewrite it. The programme coordinator will then approve or reject the report issued stating the reasons for this decision. Once the report is validated in the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students, an icon with a green pencil will be visible, which when clicked will take you to the self-registration process. At the end of the process, a payment form and the corresponding registration receipt will be generated.
The self-registration process will inform you about the payment procedure. Likewise, at the bottom of the payment form you will find a link to a page with all the necessary bank details to make the payment by the method of your choice.
You can pay electronically through your “Acceso identificado” student account. To do this, go to the Mis pagos UGR (My UGR payments) option and follow the instructions provided.
If you are entitled to a fee remission because you have a scholarship, belong to a large family or for any other reason, you must present the original supporting documentation and a copy of it (or a copy certified by a competent body) at a UGR registry or at any official registry of any state or regional administration.
You can apply for late submission through the “Solicitudes” (Applications) tab of the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students. See the image below:
Your application must be submitted together with your monitoring report and the reasons why it was not submitted on time, and must be sent to the doctoral programme, which will assess it and determine whether or not to accept your application for late submission.
When you register for the doctoral programme, the system automatically assigns you full-time student status. If you are in your second or third year (excluding the time spent taking the complementary training established during admission) and you can provide evidence that you are working, you will have to request a change to part-time study each academic year after registration. Applications for a change of study mode must be made through ‘SOLICITUDES’ (APPLICATIONS) in the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students. Your application must be accompanied by the corresponding documentation justifying the change. If possible, the supporting documentation to be provided should be your working life report. This document should be submitted during the month of September and can be obtained from this website: INFORME DE VIDA LABORAL (Working life report). From the fourth year on, it is no longer necessary to request a change in your study mode.
