4. CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES

  • 4.1. WHAT STEPS MUST I FOLLOW TO APPLY FOR THE ISSUING OF A CERTIFICATE?
  • In person: go to the International School for Postgraduate Studies (EIP) where you must fill in the application form and we will issue the receipt for you to make the corresponding payment at any authorised bank.
  • 4.2. CAN ANOTHER PERSON PICK UP A CERTIFICATE FOR ME? CAN YOU SEND IT TO ME BY POST?

Yes. You can authorise someone to pick up the certificate on your behalf. In this case, you must provide the corresponding authorisation to the person with a copy of your ID. You can also request that the document be sent to you by certified post, indicating a postal address where you want to receive it.

  • 4.3. ISSUANCE OF THE MASTER'S DEGREE

You must present the following at the International School for Postgraduate Studies:

- Proof of having paid the fees for issuing the Master's Degree. The payment form is available at the International School for Postgraduate Studies.

- Photocopy of your valid national identity document (DNI) or equivalent document together with the original (foreign students must provide their original passport as well as a photocopy).

- Original and copy of the degree used to access the Master (not necessary if it is from the University of Granada).

If the degree used to access the Master was obtained abroad and has been officially recognised in Spain, you must present a photocopy of the certificate of recognition (credencial de homologación) along with the original.

No procedure for issuing a university degree will be carried out in the event that the student has pending university fees.

  • 4.4. WHERE CAN I PICK UP THE DEGREE CERTIFICATE?
  • In the Secretary's Office:

a. By the doctoral degree holder, appearing at the International School for Postgraduate Studies following notification that the degree certificate has been received, presenting their original national identity document (DNI) or passport in the case of foreign citizens.

b. Via a duly authorised person: this person must provide the DNI or passport of the person involved, as well as an authorisation to collect the degree certificate granted via a power of attorney issued for this purpose. This person must also accredit their identity by means of an original ID.

  • Other methods:

Students residing outside the University of Granada who wish to pick up their degree certificate in another Spanish city or anywhere in the world must contact the International School for Postgraduate Studies in writing.

a. In Spain: by request, the degree certificate will be sent to the Government Delegation that you wish.

b. Abroad: by request, the degree certificate will be sent to the Spanish Embassy or Consulate closest to the address indicated.

In either case, you must attach a photocopy of your ID to the request.

In the case of deceased students, direct family members should contact the International School for Postgraduate Studies to initiate the corresponding procedures.

  • 4.5 ISSUANCE OF THE DOCTORAL DEGREE CERTIFICATE

  • 4.7 CAN ANOTHER PERSON COME TO PICK UP THE DOCTORAL CERTIFICATE FOR ME? CAN YOU SEND IT TO ME BY POST?

For another person to pick up the doctoral degree certificate for you, authorisation via a power of attorney is required.

We can send the degree certificate by post:

  • To the Central Government Delegations in the Autonomous Regions
  • to the Spanish Embassies and Consulates abroad

To do this, you must expressly request it.
