Registration of complementary training courses established for admission

Your admission to doctoral studies may be conditional upon completion of a number of complementary training courses.

    • How can I find out which complementary training courses have been established as compulsory for my admission? You can check this on the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students > “Datos generales” (General data) tab.

If you do not know which complementary training courses you have to complete, you can ask your assigned tutor, your thesis supervisor or the coordination of your doctoral programme.

Complementary training courses can be completed at any university.

If you are taking these courses at the University of Granada as part of an official master's degree, you must register for them.

In this form, you must specify the courses and the name of the master's degree to which they belong. Once the form is completed and signed, you have to submit it through the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students > “Solicitudes” (Applications) tab. Under “Tipo de documento” (Document type), select “Matrícula de complementos formativos establecidos en la admisión” (Registration for complementary training courses established for admission).

If these courses are part of an official master's degree programme, the International School for Postgraduate Studies (EIP) will complete your registration.

You can download the payment form and make the payment via the “MIS PAGOS UGR” (UGR payments) option in your “Acceso identificado” Student Account.

Period for accreditation of complementary training courses

Proof of completion of the required complementary training courses must be provided within one year. If you cannot complete the courses within this period, you will have to document the reasons for not completing them.

If you fail to do this, your registration to the doctoral programme will be cancelled for not complying with the requirement established for your admission to doctoral studies.

  • IMPORTANT
    • Your doctoral record will reflect your registration on any complementary training courses to be completed as part of an official master's degree programme of the University of Granada. The approval awarded by the coordinators of the official master's degree programme in the above form only applies to the course to be completed.
    • Once this document is received, the International School for Postgraduate Studies (EIP) will proceed to complete your registration for the selected courses.
    • Do not forget to notify the International School for Postgraduate Studies (EIP) of any complementary training courses completed at the University of Granada. If you have completed these courses at another university, you must apply to have them recognised through the SOLICITUDES (Applications) option of the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students.

Proof of complementary training courses

Once you have taken the complementary training courses established for your admission to doctoral studies, you will have to submit proof of completion to the International School for Postgraduate Studies (EIP).

  • If these courses have already been graded and appear on your doctoral record, please send an email to doctoradoinformacion@ugr.es requesting to have your conditional admission closed.
  • If your complementary training courses appear on a student record other than that of your doctoral programme or if they have not been taken at the University of Granada, you must submit proof of completion. To do this, you must complete the corresponding application via the Academic Monitoring Portal for Doctoral Students through the “Solicitudes” (Applications) option. Under “Tipo de solicitud” (Type of application), select “Acreditación de la formación establecida en la resolución de admisión a doctorado” (Accreditation of the training established in the decision on admission to doctoral studies). You must attach the corresponding certificate in PDF format.
