Protocol for the proposal of double or multiple master's degrees

Ideally, the institutions involved should have a history of student and lecturer exchanges with the UGR, as well as collaborative experience in the field of the proposed master's degree.

The most straightforward proposal to process would be a double or multiple degree programme based on an official master's degree.

Proposals are made by the master's programme academic committee with advice from the Internationalization department of the International School for Postgraduate Studies (EIP) and the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization. These proposals must be approved by the Advisory Council for Postgraduate Education.

Agreement

The agreement must include at least the following elements (see templates in English and Spanish):

I. Subject and purpose of the agreement, including the names of each master's degree and university.
II. Structure and organisation of the double degree programme. It is important to specify the duration of the master's degree at each university.
III. Composition of the Monitoring Committee.
IV. Academic programme (as an Annex). This document must outline the structure of the study programme including general details of the double degree, such as total number of credits; planning in semesters; working languages; mobility of students and teaching and research staff; student selection criteria, etc.
V. Issuing of degree certificates. It is necessary to specify that the degree certificate can only be requested once the student has completed the double degree programme and requested the degree certificate at their home institution (each institution issues its own degree certificate in accordance with its regulations).
VI. Number of students who will take part in the programme and selection process.
VII. Financial aspects, such as: a) students must pay registration fees at their home institution and are exempt from them at the host institution; b) specifications on all aspects that students have to manage and finance themselves, for example, health and accident insurance during mobility periods, etc.
VIII. Intellectual property rights.
IX. Data protection regulations.
X. Dispute settlement, extension, amendments and termination of the agreement.
XI. Grade conversion table (as an Annex).
XII. Continuance regulations (as an Annex).
